As a new school year begins, I'm sure you're wondering the same thing I am: where did the time go? What happened to playing Barbies and G.I. Joes? Now we're in charge of controlling our own lives. As a member of the senior class, I have learned a lot more in my three years at Capital than what could be taught in our UC courses; knowledge that I hope the incoming class uses to make the transition to college that much easier.

A group of 120 college presidents is pushing to lower the drinking age to 18 in an effort to curb binge drinking on campus. They've got an impressive name, the Amethyst Initiative, named after the ancient Greek words that mean "not intoxicated."
These college leaders hope that a lower drinking age will encourage more responsible drinking.
