Miami Student, Miami University, OH

2 hours ago by Dave Matthews

A public statement in favor of lowering the 21-year-old drinking age called the Amethyst Initiative has been signed by 129 college presidents, but because of the proposal's supposed misleading intentions, Miami University President David Hodge's pen didn't give the document a single drop.

Eastern has flower power

The Eastern Progress, Eastern Kentucky University, KY

Eastern has an incredibly beautiful campus. Flowers are continually in bloom, big shady trees are everywhere, and the trash from events like tailgating never hangs around long. The grass is (almost) always green, even right now, when Eastern's financial green is somewhat lacking.

Trash cans are being put everywhere, food stand equipment is being laid across campus, temporary fences are being erected and alums have started arriving on campus.

Following the historic nomination of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) at the Democratic National Convention last week, political junkies across the nation shifted their attention to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and whom he would select as a running mate. It was widely accepted that his choice had to excite the conservative base and the obvious choice to do this was former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney.

Language used in Progress headline is unprofessional

The Eastern Progress, Eastern Kentucky University, KY

While on campus yesterday, 8/28/08, I picked up a Progress. I was anxious to see what the progress had to say about the start of a new semester. I am very dissapointed in the paper. As an alumni of EKU, I am appalled and offended that the word "suck" is used in a headline(review of movie by Tyler Gilliam).

Miami Student, Miami University, OH

There is something about this time of the year in Oxford; the air is still warm and Miami University students are out socializing before classwork beats them into isolation.

It's also the time where, around street corners, one witnesses the sights and sounds of the police force protecting and serving the Oxford community.

Save the Dillon Pep Rally

The Observer, University of Notre Dame, IN

I have wanted to contribute to The Observer but something always came up to keep me from writing. Nonetheless, I cannot ignore the recent travesty that has occurred.

Many of you are probably unaware that the Dillon Hall Pep Rally has been cancelled. Some of you will be affected by this; some of you probably could not be more apathetic.

DIY- Being intimate without sex in four steps

Indiana Statesman, Indiana State University, IN

Step 1.

Define your definition of sex. Sex means different things to different people. Do you mean intercourse? In your opinion, do you consider oral sex the same as the act itself? By creating this barrier, you establish with yourself and with whomever you consider dating what is permitted and what is not.

BG News, Bowling Green State University, OH

In the heart of Republican dominated Northwest Ohio, the Barack Obama campaign is turning to Bowling Green - and more specifically its ample supply of college-aged voters - as an island of support in a sea of conservatism.

Our lives have a lot of firsts: The first time I ever rode a bicycle without training wheels (my dad had my back and showed me the way), the first time I skied down a hill (my mom brought me up the chair lift), and the first time I ever drove a car (my dad was giving me instructions from the passenger seat).
