Cici's Pizza is the perfect college restaurant. It's relaxed, cheap, and pretty good pizza. Cici's Pizza is located in the new shopping center next to Goodwill on Bechtle Avenue.
Cici's Pizza offers a $3.99 buffet with all you can eat pizza, pasta, salad, and desserts, plus the cost of your drink. This buffet is available all day every day. In addition to the buffet deal, Cici's offers a large pizza for just $4.99.
I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed. It was just so so, right down the middle of the road.
The buffet offers a variety of pizzas from spinach alfredo to a new macaroni and cheese pizza. They also have the old favorites of cheese and pepperoni.
I tried the spinach and cheese pizza with an alfredo sauce. I wasn't too keen on the alfredo sauce. There was just something funny about the way it tasted.
The salad bar contained typical salad items including a great pasta salad. But they offered few choices in salad dressings and the ranch tasted a lot like runny veggie dip.
The pasta bar was simply corkscrew noodles and you choose the sauce, marinara or alfredo. The noodles looked a little stale, but tasted fine.
Finally, the buffet offered a few desserts. They had brownie sprinkled with powdered sugar, a dessert pizza with apples and crumb topping, and a cinnamon swirl bun. The apple pizza was good, but the brownies were better.
An employee checked the dining room regularly to clean off the tables. They did a really good job at keeping the restaurant spotless.
The restaurant was extremely busy for lunch filling nearly every table. They did a good job of accommodating groups. There were several work groups having lunch together.
The biggest selling point of the restaurant was the low price for all you can eat. It's one of the few places in Springfield that targets college students with little cash flow. Cici's Pizza is a great place to hit up with a group of friends or when you're just tired of the CDR.
