This week's Tiger of the Week is sophomore track and field participant, Nicole Bailey. Bailey, who was an avid performer for the team last season, has already proved herself to be upon some of the best during their indoor season. Bailey, who competes in the long jump, triple jump, and 55 meter dash, had a very impressive indoor season.
During the first meet of the indoor season at Otterbein, Bailey captured two individual victories, one in the long jump and the other in the triple jump. At the team's next meet, Bailey won first place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.47 seconds, and first place overall in the women's triple jump. Also at other meets throughout the season, such as the one at Anderson University, Bailey posted two top three finishes, while helping the lady Tigers advance to a ninth place team finish.
Bailey is a consistent performer and finisher for the Tigers, and this helps allow her team to become successful. At the North Coast Athletic Conference meet held at Denison University, (which marked the end of the indoor track season), Bailey once again proved her speed and agility. She took first place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.5 seconds, and helped lead the women's team to an overall finish of fourth place in the conference tournament.
The indoor season ended Saturday, March 4, with the conference meet, and the first meet of the outdoor season will take place Saturday, March 25, at Cedarville University. The out door season will last until May 4 and 5, when the NCAC outdoor conference meet will be held.
Bailey is from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended Summit Country Day High School.
