This week's Tiger of the Week is junior Katie Gregorevich. Gregorevich a post player for the Tigers has proven time and time again to be the deciding factor in the Wittenberg women's basketball team's success this season.
In the past three games the Tigers have played, Gregorevich has been a solid contributor and scored a total of 60 points. Most recently, against conference foe Allegheny Gregorevich posted 18 points and six rebounds to give the Tigers the 71-47 win.
Just one night earlier against Hiram, Gregorevich's play was spectacular again. Leading all scorers with 22 points and six rebounds, Gregorevich the first fourteen of the Tigers 18 points at the beginning of the game. Gregorevich's play helped to give the Tigers a 67-31 win, and Gregorevich tied career high for points.
Against the Ladies of Kenyon, although the Tigers were not able to come up with a win on the road, Gregorevich's play definitley helped the Tigers. Gregorevich finished the game with a double double, scoring 20 points and hauling in 11 rebounds along with two blocked shots. The Tigers lost that game on the road 50-41.
Gregorevich's strong effort and outstanding play has helped to move the Tigers to a 11-9 record overall and 8-4 in the NCAC. The Tigers are currently tied for second place in the conference with Ohio Wesleyan. Denison has clenched the conference title.
The Tigers next game is Sat., Feb. 10 versus Ohio Wesleyan at home.
Gregorevich is from Northfield, Ohio where she attended Walsh Jesuit High School.
