The hottest event on campus this week was the
performance of the Vagina Monologues by Witt's very own students. Although almost everyone who returned from the perfomance could not stop proclaiming how hilarious it was, there is a lot more than humor behind the play. The author, Eve Ensler, compiled a book filled with the testimonials of women who decided to open up about their biggest fantasies and fears. A huge hit, the book has been translated into over 24 languages. What started out as a book turned into a play which turned into a movement to end the voilence against women all over the world. V-day (the 'v' standing for victory, valentine, and vagina) has raised over $40 million and launched an abundance of programs across the world.
