This past spring break the Wittenberg University Choir took to the road once again for their annual Choir Tour. The tour changes each year and tours a different part of the United States. During this week of crazy bus trips the group brings their beautiful voices to churches in nearby cities in order to spread their gift of music to those other than the Wittenberg community.
The Wittenberg Choir takes a tour every spring break, and rotates between Florida, the Midwest, the Northeast, and the South. This year it was time to travel to the South for the "Southern Comfort" tour.
The tour was busy to say the least with 13 stops in only 10 days ranging from Savannah, Ga. to Ellicott City, Md. The group stopped and saw the ocean while passing through Coastal Carolina and had some time to sight see in Savannah in between singing and riding the bus.
Savannah, Ga. and Charleston, S.C. were some of the highlights according to senior and 4th year veteran of the Choir Tour, Mike Dukes.
Although the trip was a lot of work with limited time for sightseeing, good times and laughter were not far from the group throughout the entire trip.
"While at the Spaghetti Warehouse we sang "Schnitzelbank" while Dr. Busarow conducted us using a roll of bread," said Dukes.
It seems that not only was the Choir Tour a success as they sold their cds and widened their fan base to the rest of the states, they also had an enjoyable time during their spring break and were able to relax and do what they do best, sing.
