The series follows a son (Joshua Jackson of "Dawson's Creek") and his father, a genius scientist who is doing time in a psychiatric hospital after experimentation with mind control and extraordinary powers. A product of J.J. Adams, executive producer of "Lost" and "Alias," this is a very promising addition to ABC's prime time lineup.
Students can get their fix of the reality show, "America's Next Top Model," on Wednesday at 8 p.m. this fall. Not only will the girls be shipped off to Amsterdam this season, but the show also the first in which a transgendered contestant will grace the "ANTM" photo schools.
Airing Oct. 1, fans of "Private Practice" will also want to curb Wednesday night plans. A popular spinoff of "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice"'s second season is predicted to be as steamy as ever after its seven-month hiatus during the writer's strike.
A heavy hitter on Thursday nights, popular CBS drama, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" will also return in October with new episodes. Significant to this season is the fact that actor William Peterson (Gil Grissom) has already announced that come January, he won't be a regular on the show.
Fans upset by this news, take comfort: It's only a hop, skip and jump away to NBC's Thursday night lineup, including new comedy "Kath & Kim," starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair (Oct. 9) and a new season of "The Office" (Sept. 25).
Producers of "The Office" have shared that many loose ends that were left at the finale of season four will be tied up this season. Michael's interactions with new HR rep (Amy Ryan), Jan's pregnancy, Jim's near proposal to Pam, and last, but not least, the misadventures of Dwight, Angela, and Andy, ensure that laughter will most certainly ensue.
NBC has also brought "30 Rock" back for another season, set to begin Oct. 30. Fans of the show can look forward to guest stars, including Megan Mullally (of "Will & Grace" fame) and Jennifer Aniston. This season, Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) will enter the world of adoption, with Mullally appearing as Lemon's adoption coordinator.
Last, but certainly not least, on the list of must-sees for the fall is ABC's new season of "Grey's Anatomy." The season kicks off on Sept. 25 and sets out to further delve into the dramatics raised last season, including the kiss shared by Callie (Sarah Ramirez) and Erika (Brooke Smith). "Grey's" creator, Shonda Rhimes, also confirmed that this season will welcome Kevin McKidd (of "Rome") as a doctor at Seattle Grace and a potential match for Dr. Yang (Sandra Oh).
With so many choices for fall TV, avid fans may find themselves looking to the weekends for academic support. Although who wants to sacrifice afternoon with Tony Little, "America's Personal Trainer" or the Ronco Rotisserie Barbeque?
