Blue skies, interesting events, and a peek into student's lives here at Witt-this year's parent's weekend was nothing short of a success.
"We got a lot of positive feedback from students and parents about the amount and quality of events scheduled for family weekend," said junior Anna List, intern for the Director of University Planning. "Overall the weekend went really smoothly."
Highlights from the weekend, according to List, included Saturday's performance by the Bread and Puppet Theatre troupe.
"The performance was really cool," said Lisa Fischering, who travelled from Chicago to spend the weekend with freshman daughter Meret Duvall. "The costumes were very elaborate!"
According to List, the event, which took place in the green space beside Woodlawn Hall, had a great turnout.
"Some freshman actually participated in the performance with their Wittsem, so a lot of their friends and family came to support them," explained List.
Another highlight of the weekend was Saturday night's Parent-Senior Wine and Cheese event.
"It was nice to meet all of my daughter's friends and professors," expressed Deborah Fuhrman, mother of senior Suzanne Fuhrman.
Senior Lindsay Dollinger said, "It was neat getting to meet everyone's parents for the first time."
"It was a good way to kick off our senior year, but it also brings you back to reality!" joked Dollinger, referring to the, at times, daunting feeling that comes with senior year.
Another popular event last weekend was the Choir Variety Show on both Friday and Saturday nights in Kreig.
Zach Rinker, senior, attended the show on Friday Night.
"It was great to see them perform a lot of different songs," he said.
Junior Will McKelvey and his parents attended Saturday's CBS Parents' Recognition Banquet and Program.
"It is always great to see mom and dad," McKelvey said on Saturday. "And after the banquet we're going grocery shopping!"
