Execs at Ohio college funnel pay raise to students

PAYCHECK PROMISE: Top administrators at Wright State University in western Ohio are pledging to sacrifice pay raises this year.

WHY?: Officials want the money for students in danger of leaving school because their families are being hurt by the recession.

IMPACT: Wright State estimates at least 2,829 students will be in need of emergency relief for sudden financial reasons, such as layoffs or underemployment.
